Bioenergy and peat policies

Erki Niitlaan, Secretary, Estonian Peat Producers Association

Erki Niitlaan has been the managing director of the Estonian Peat Association since 2004. He has done extensive research and presentations on sustainable mining of mineral resources and the production of peat in the Baltic Countries.

About the speech:

The situation and competitiveness of peat as fuel deserves much more and wider understanding in the Baltic as well as in Scandinavia. Using peat does not have to go against environmental principles, it is about bridging the gap between economics and the environment for the benefit of both.
